Getting the bike ready for spring

I am starting to get all my bikes ready for spring. I put some new front brakes and brake levers on my kona stuff. They are working really good. I am now working on my kona kula. It won't need much work. Just some maintenance. Last week I got a stand for the front of my ninja. Yesterday I removed the front wheel and replaced the tire. I also build a bracket for the license plate. Hopefully it won't be long before I have it out.

Thoughts

There have been many discussions in the past discussing whether or not one can lose there salvation. When discussing this topic I always think of the older brother in the story of the prodigal son. When the younger brother returns home the father celebrates and the older brother is upset. He is upset that his younger brother who turned away gets a party when he who worked hard all his years did not. I think that the "faithful" christian sees that they have not turned away and doesn't think the christian who turned away should be rewarded the same and they won't but it does not affect their salvation. The bible does not support the idea of saved by grace but kept saved by works. Our performance for good or for bad does not affect our salvation. A while ago Mr.Green gave me a daily devotional book and told me to read Nov 6 and Nov 7. Nov 7 in particular got my attention and I wanted to share some of the thoughts expressed. It talks about confidence. How we can be confident in our salvation. Phil 1:6 "He that began a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." If we start focusing on ourselves and our performance there will certainly be need for worry and wondering it we can lose our salvation but if we focus on Christ we see that it is His work and He is faithful. He never starts a work He will not finish. If we believe that salvation can be lost we open ourselves to tremendous doubt. Every time we do something wrong we wonder about our salvation. A christian will be crippled greatly from the thought that salvation can be lost. We must be confident in what we believe. We must have confidence in the Lords death on the cross to pay for our sins and nothing of ourselves.

New York

I haven't added anything on here in a while. I will have some pictures to add in a couple of weeks. I am going on a skiing trip to New York. I am staying in Lake Placid and skiing at White Face. It looks like a nice hill. I will see how it compares to Mt. Tremblant and Mt Sainte Anne. I got some new ski boots for the trip. My old boots have done well but it is time to retire them. I used my new boots at blue last week and they are really nice. Hopefully they keep me warm. My friend Brendan is going with me. We are taking the good old super chevy(94 chev pickup) which has been great for many adventures already. I am doing some work on it this week to get it ready for the trip. I also got a new computer this week. I am going to take it with me. It seems to work good so far. I also got my brothers old video camera so that we can get some footage of this great adventure. I will put up some videos later as well.

New Toy

Last night Bendan and I went for a trip in the super chevy to go look at a kawasaki ninja ZX9R. It has 18,000 kilometers on it. It is in very good condition. I ended up buying it. I have never owned a motorcycle before. I am not sure if I am going to ride it this year or not. I might wait until next year. Time will tell. I am going to take it to the track sooner or later to see what it will do in a quarter mile. Hopefully low 11's or into the 10's.

Busy long Weekend

I had a really good but really busy long weekend. It all started off with a 200 kilometer bike ride to raise money to get Norm and Debra's belongings to Africa. It was a bigger challenge that I thought it would be but Brendan and I got all 200 kilometers done. At the half way point we were not feeling that great. We stopped for some lunch and prayed that God would give us strength to continue and He did. Looking back it was a lot of fun. On Sunday afternoon I got a chance to do some body work on the neon. It is looking a lot better. I still have to some paint work and a rust spot that was underneath the trim to fix. Today I got up at a good time and got working on the camaro. I am putting some lowering springs in it. I almost got that done and then I needed a strut mount that I did not have. So I will have to finish that tomorrow. Then I got home and helped with some lawn cutting. The guys at work tell me that I get so much done on the weekend because I am still single. Maybe that is true. I don't really know.

Ouch!

Today I was waiting at a stop sign behind another car when a lady in an envoy started backing out of a parking lot in the direction of my car. It started to get close so I used my horn to notify her but she continued to back up anyway and now there is a massive dent in the side of my beautiful neon. The amazing part is that the truck bed liner didn't even come off. It is truly amazing stuff. There is 1000 dollars damage done to my neon. So sad.

Roadtrip

At the end of July my friend Graham and I went on a road trip to the states in search of some good mountain biking trails and we found them. We drove almost 4000 kilometers on our adventure. The best biking and driving was in west Virginia. It is an amazing state and I would love to go back some time. Maybe next year I will go again. We also found some interesting cars that caught our attention so I thought I would share them with you. We also went to Virginia beach and swam in the ocean which was fantastic. We had fun swimming in the ocean but we were informed that we were out to far by a ford expedition with a loud speaker and that we would be escorted by police if we did not come back in right away. So needless to say we went back to shore.
